Top 5 Reasons Why I Don't Want to Help You

In last year's #DisruptHR Denver event, Susan Ruhl, CFO & President ICC, gave a lets-be-honest talk about why common courtesy still has a place in business.

Take a few minutes today to nod along with Susan's list of her Top 5 Reasons Why I Don't Want to Help You.

"I actually do want to help you.  But, when my door is closed, please don't think I am sitting in there waiting for you to come in and ask me a question."

I couldn't have said it any better myself.  We can all use her suggested reminders to honor the time commitment of those who's help we seek.  Once the advice is given, how is it received and acted upon? And, not the least of her tips, how much do we still love to receive an honest-to-goodness handwritten Thank You note?

If you have an idea to share that shakes up the conversation, submit your talk idea to #DisruptHRSD for our San Diego event on October 19, 2016 and be sure to check out next week's blog "Correct use of the C word in HR".
